Spend: cost overview and cost drivers

Where to find it

Spend is the first of the three dashboard views (Spend, Save, Proof). Its Overview and Cost Drivers tabs answer "where is the money going, and why did it change?". For a tour of every view, see Understanding your dashboard.

Overview

• •Total cost and total tokens for the selected period
• •Daily cost chart
• •Budget burndown - month-to-date spend against the monthly budget set in Settings > Budget
• •Why Your Bill Changed - a plain-language explanation of the movement
• •Skill Trends

Cost Drivers

Compares the current period with the previous one and attributes the change to the factors that produced it - usage volume, prompt length, model mix, cache efficiency and provider price changes.

Reading the daily chart

• •Spikes - a single expensive session or a batch job
• •Steady climbs - growing usage that may need model-tier changes
• •Drops - reduced usage, or a change that worked

Date range

The range picker in the dashboard header sets the period: 24h, 7d, 30d (the default) or 90d.

Only instrumented traffic appears

Calls made through the wrapper or the sidecar are tracked; calls from a provider console or an app you have not instrumented are not, so a total here can be lower than your provider invoice.
